1864 Three Dollar Gold, AU55
Only 2,630 Pieces Struck
1864 $3 AU55 NGC. Only 2,630 three dollar gold pieces were minted in 1864, reflecting the troubled economic conditions of the Civil War era. The present coin is a well struck specimen, with rich greenish-gold surfaces and satiny mint luster. The surfaces are lightly abraded for the grade. Census: 24 in 55, 82 finer (1/11).
