Description

Highly Lustrous 1888 Three Dollar, MS66

1888 $3 MS66 NGC. The 1888 three dollar is one of the most common dates in the series, despite a mintage (5,000 pieces) that ranks among the lowest. NGC and PCGS have certified about 1,000 or so examples in grades ranging from Fine to the higher levels of Mint State, with the modal population ranging from MS62 to MS65.
Blazing luster emanates from peach-gold surfaces that are imbued with hints of light green, and a well executed strike bring out sharp definition on the design elements. Well preserved surfaces show on both sides. Truly pleasing in all respects. Census: 15 in 66, 0 finer (6/07).
From The DAX Collection.(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 25NB, PCGS# 8010)
