Description

1949 Quarter, Beautifully Toned MS68
The Finest PCGS Coin of This Date

1949 25C MS68 PCGS Secure. CAC. The 1949, at 9.3 million coins struck, has the lowest mintage for a Philadelphia quarter since the 1932. The nearly perfect surfaces are virtually an afterthought on this spectacularly toned coin. The obverse is toned in rich shades of emerald-green, scarlet, and lemon-yellow that turns to lime-green. The reverse is mostly brilliant save for the lower periphery, which shows the same colors as the obverse but in thin rings. An outstanding coin. As the sole finest known, this piece will be of enormous interest to Registry Set collectors. Population: 1 in 68, 0 finer (11/12).
From The David Poole Collection of Silver Washington Quarters.(Registry values: N991) (NGC ID# 245P, PCGS# 5839)
