Description:
Very Attractive Superb Gem 1963-D Quarter
Tied With Three Other PCGS MS67 Pieces, None Finer
1963-D 25C MS67 PCGS Secure. CAC. Lustrous and beautiful with a bold strike, this Superb Gem displays tremendous eye appeal. Very subtle hints of toning appear when the coin is rotated. Only a few contact marks appear and they are minor. A few drops of translucent residue are noted near 8 o'clock on the reverse. The last PCGS-graded 1963-D example we offered at this grade level, a nicely toned piece, realized $16,100 in our April 2012 Central States Signature Auction as lot 4331. The present example will certainly appeal to PCGS Registry Set collectors. Neither PCGS nor NGC has assigned a higher numeric grade to a single piece. Population: 4 in 67, 0 finer (11/12).
From The David Poole Collection of Silver Washington Quarters.(Registry values: N208) (NGC ID# 246T, PCGS# 5875)
