Another dynamic rarity presented from this momentous collection of Russian numismatics, the most grand of the standard denominations issued in Russia's Elizabethan era, especially prized as a Novodel strike. For this particular date, business strikes were produced both in Moscow and St. Petersburg, though Novodel pieces such as this were limited only to the latter of those mint locations. Though pegged just shy of a Mint State designation by NGC, they have deemed this to be a Novodel type. Despite light handling; the considerable flash of the surfaces, the exacting strike, and quality of the flan indicate an elevated level of production, beyond what would be expected on a business strike issue. This selection will mark the first ever occasion at Heritage for the sale of a Novodel 10 Roubles featuring Elizabeth's portrait, greatly important as such.
