1896 1C MS67 Red PCGS. CAC. Sharply defined devices are amplified by frosty, pristine mint luster and vivid copper-orange hues. A couple pinpoint specks at AM in AMERICA and NE in ONE serve as pedigree markers. Struck from clashed dies, with portions of the reverse design evident in the left obverse field. The availability of the 1896 Indian cent overall affords collectors ample opportunity to be selective with their acquisitions. However, for advanced Registry Set collectors, only Superb Gem Red examples will do, and these are rare. PCGS reports merely a dozen coins in this top grade, with eight more at NGC (9/25). Population: 12 in 67 Red, 0 finer. CAC: 2 in 67, 0 finer (9/25).
