Description

Impressive MS65 Deep Mirror Prooflike 1890-CC Dollar

1890-CC $1 MS65 Deep Mirror Prooflike NGC. While reflective qualities are frequently found on Mint State 1890-CC dollars, such examples are normally peppered with abrasions of varying severity. Several hundred DMPLs have been certified by NGC alone in the MS62 to MS64 grade range. Once the Gem threshold is reached, however, the number of survivors plummets to single digits. This refreshingly smooth Carson City dollar is one of the select few. The sparkling, mirror-like fields show only minimal signs of contact and provide strong contrast for the chalk-white devices. An important offering for the DMPL or Carson City specialist. Census: 7 in 65, 0 finer (9/08).(Registry values: P5, N4719)
