Description
1877 G$1 MS64 PCGS. CAC. The 1877 gold dollar is a popular date primarily because of the cachet attached to the date and the many rare coins issued in this year. The gold dollar had a mintage of 3,900 pieces and it is scarce, but not as difficult as the 1876 or 1878. This is a lovely, reddish-tinged example that has the usual semiprooflike fields on each side. The striking details are sharp throughout, and there are no singularly mentionable abrasions on either side. From The Longfellow Collection.(Registry values: N1793)
