Overstruck 1795 C-6a Half Cent
1795 1/2 C Plain Edge XF45 NGC. C-6a, B-6c, R.2. Struck on cut-down token stock; clear remnants of the undertype are visible at the right obverse and right reverse, although identification of the undertype is uncertain. Slightly off center to the left, with wide right borders, permitting additional viewing of the undertype. Deep chestnut and steel surfaces have traces of mahogany color. This lovely cent exhibits few surface marks on either side. An important opportunity for the specialist. EAC 30.(Registry values: P6)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2225, PCGS# 1018, Greysheet# 441)
