Description
Lustrous Mint State 1871-S Twenty Dollar
1871-S $20 MS60 NGC. Most examples of this plentiful issue in an earlier time were either VF or XF, as most circulated out West, like so many S-mint gold coins of the 1860s and 1870s. A few Mint State pieces have since been repatriated from overseas hoards, however. Generous luster abounds on both sides of the strictly Mint State piece, but numerous abrasions prevent an even finer grade. The lovely orange-gold color is a plus.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26AC, PCGS# 8962, Greysheet# 9914)
Weight: 33.44 grams
