1862 Gold Three Dollar, AU53
Pleasing for the Grade
1862 $3 AU53 PCGS. The 1862 three dollar gold piece is a
better date in high grade, coming from a mintage of only 5,750
coins. The present AU example is well-struck from dies that show
mint-made striations in the fields. Original straw-gold luster
remains in the protected regions. A few marks near Liberty's chin
