Description

Pleasing MS62 1852-D Quarter Eagle

1852-D $2 1/2 MS62 NGC. CAC. Variety 15-M, the single variety identified for the year. This attractive survivor from an issue of just 4,078 pieces exhibits most of the noteworthy characteristics of the date; to wit, it has vibrant luster and bold central detail with a degree of the usual softness noted at the dentils on each side. Unlike most of its fellows, this straw-gold and lemon-gold piece shows few overt distractions, and the few wispy abrasions that preclude Select status are generally inoffensive. A top-notch piece that can stake a plausible claim to a place on the Condition Census. Census: 2 in 62, 3 finer (9/08).(Registry values: P2)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25HT, PCGS# 7765, Greysheet# 8369)
