LARSy LkS (shekel of Israel); A ([year] 1 = 66-70 AD) above ritual chalice with wide, smooth rim, pellet on either side, flat base with pearled ends / US¿k M>Säry (Jerusalem [the] holy); staff with three pomegranate buds, round base. Hendin 1353. TJC 184. AJC II 259,2. Samuels 80 (this coin). Good Very Fine.Nice bold example of the transitional style shekel of the first year.
