Conditionally Elusive 1898-S Eagle MS63 NGC
1898-S $10 MS63 NGC. Despite a not insignificant mintage of 473,600 pieces, the 1898-S is a difficult coin to locate in finer Mint State grades. This Select quality example is colored in reddish-gold shades over bright, semi-prooflike surfaces. The sharp strike is free of criticism, and the number of small abrasions is consistent with the designated grade. NGC and PCGS combined have seen just 32 coins in MS63, with only 11 finer (2/06).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 267H, PCGS# 8741, Greysheet# 9526)
