Not Sold Description
Low Mintage Key 1927-S Quarter MS65
1927-S 25C MS65 NGC. Quarter production at the San Francisco Mint was limited to just 396,000 coins this year, and it is likely that the vast majority entered commerce and stayed there for more than 30 years. Today, even lightly circulated survivors can be difficult to locate. This wonderfully preserved example displays natural silver-gray, shimmering surfaces with speckled golden-orange peripheral accents. The strike is above average for the issue, but does show normal softness on Liberty's head and shield. Although less challenging than a full head Gem, the presently offered example is also far less expensive and should provide excellent value for the serious Standing Liberty Quarter collector. Population: 18 in 65, 21 finer (11/03).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 243W, PCGS# 5764, Greysheet# 5597)
Weight: 6.25 grams
Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
