Description

James II gold Half Guinea 1688, KM458.1, S-3404, MS62 PCGS, second bust type. Some haymarking is evident both sides. Very strong luster, and an excellent portrait for this often weakly-struck type. James' reign of less than four years (1685-1688) resulted in few coins produced. Thus, anything choice from this short period of British history is a true prize. An outstanding early Half Guinea.
