Republic "SANPEX - 400th Anniversary of São Paulo" Counterstamped 960 Reis 1955 AU58 NGC, cf. KM-X Type VII (UNC Standard). Issued by the Santos Philatelic Society to celebrate the 400th anniversary of São Paulo, struck on a 960 Reis 1815-R (host: Chile Ferdinand VII 1811 "Admiral Bust" 8 Reales So-FJ). Well-applied on crisp host. Allegedly, only high-grade, pleasing hosts were used for these 20th countermarkings.From the Colección Val y Mexía
