Description

Bavarian Madonna and Child Rarity in Mint State

Bavaria. Maximilian I 1/2 Taler 1627 MS62 PCGS, Munich mint, KM224, Hahn-104. An aesthetically pleasing issue that features the ever-popular image of the Madonna and child, incredibly pronounced and surrounded by rays. The obverse crowned shield and order chain is equally precise in its detail. Few records of this two-year issue are available; this is the second ever sold by our firm, one of a total of only two certified by PCGS. Additionally, the NGC Census only claims two Mint State examples, making this a true rarity in both condition and type.
