Mature Head, Large Letters
1843 1C Mature Head, Large Letters MS63 Brown NGC. N-16, R.4.
Our EAC Grade AU58. Die lines above the ERI in AMERICA are
bold, but the diagonal line that connects the CE in CENT remains
the definitive N-16 diagnostic. A lovely and satiny golden-brown
cent with exceptionally unperturbed fields and devices.
Uncirculated examples of this scarce variety are undoubtedly rare.
As of (11/13), NGC has certified just three pieces in Mint State,
one each in the grades MS62 Brown, MS63 Brown (the present lot),
and MS64 Brown.From The Adam Mervis Large Cent Collection.(Registry values: P1)
