Scarce 1859 Proof Seated Dollar
1859 $1 PR63 ICG. Sharply struck with rather deep sea-green, purple, rose-gray, and gold toning. The deep patina inhibits the reflectivity of the piece. A few wispy hairlines and minute contact marks are observed in the fields, with the aid of a magnifier. From a mintage of 1,000 pieces, with approximately 600 to 650 coins unsold and later melted.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 252D, PCGS# 7002, Greysheet# 7301)
