Addedomarus ruled the Catuvellauni in the region of Essex and was the first Celtic ruler to strike inscribed coins north of the Thames. He seems to have subdued and ruled the Trinovantes, whose territory lay to the east. As "Aedd the Great" he entered medieval Welsh lore as one of the legendary founders of Britain.
