Pompey would enter civil war against Julius Caesar in 49 BC and Pompeius Junior would continue the resistance against Caesar - raising armies across Roman territories to clash against Caesars' own. However, Pompeius Junior was unsuccessful in stopping Caesar's battle against Pompey and would eventually be killed by Lucius Caesennius Lento in 45 BC.
