Description

Awe-inspiring "Marienkirche" 5 Gulden

Free City "Marienkirche" 5 Gulden 1932 MS64 PCGS, Berlin mint, KM156, J-D17. The largest silver denomination issued in 20th century Danzig, though the 1932 issue saw a reduction in size and silver purity from the more Crown-sized 5 Gulden issues of 1923 and 1927. Incredibly prized in Mint State and almost unheard of at this near-Gem designation. This blazing satin treasure is mostly white but there are hints of light champagne toning to be found as well. This offering could proudly serve as a highlight of almost any collection specializing in Danzig issues. Sole-finest representative of its kind at PCGS.
