Description
PCGS 1847 MS 64. Despite a mintage of 1.2 million pieces, the vast majority of surviving 1847 half dimes are in circulated grades. Mint state pieces are very scarce and this piece is tied with several others at this grade level and is a mid condition census coin. It is the only MS 64 certified by PCGS (2/93). Thick satiny luster with rather deep lilac and golden toning.
