Description

Siris. Ca. 525-480 BC. AR/Æ fourrée stater (20mm, 7.67 gm). Satyr striding right, grasping the arm of a nymph fleeing to right, who looks back at him / Quadripartite incuse square. Cf. SNG Copenhagen 187. Rare. Likely struck by the Thracian tribe of the Satrai. Small breaks in silver plating, mostly on reverse, otherwise Very Fine.
