Rare Early Die State
1794 1C Head of 1794 AU55 NGC. S-57, B-55, R.1. Our EAC Grade
XF40. Ex: Mervis Collection. Breen Die State I. This rare early
die state piece has light clash marks on each side. Interspersed
olive and chocolate-brown toning appears on both sides of this
pleasing cent. Scattered surface marks are noted, many remaining
from the planchet before this piece was minted. One of the
commonest 1794 varieties, but difficult to find in high grade.From The Adam Mervis Large Cent Collection.
