Description
Edward VII Five-piece Specimen Set 1908 Uncertified, Ottawa mint, KM-SS15, Large Cent, 5 Cent, 10 Cent, 25 Cent, and 50 Cent in the original red snap-lock case, with blue satin and velvet interior. Marked on the outside of the case, in gold lettering, is, " FIRST COINAGE OF CANADIAN MINT-OTTAWA-1908." All coins are boldly struck, the cent with mottled russet patina and the silver pieces with varying shades of gray from argent-gray to charcoal-gray. Minor marks are noted. A well matched set. A scarce, original, set with an initial mintage of only 1,000 sets, of which far fewer complete sets survive. From The Eric Beckman Collection of Canadian Coins
