Central American Republic gold 1/2 Escudo 1848 CR-JB MS64 NGC, San Jose mint, KM13.1. Choice Uncirculated with full mint bloom, razor sharp details and likely Gem quality surfaces were it not for a few trivial scuffing marks and the use of heavily clashed dies on the obverse. The final date for this hugely popular type, conditionally very rare and desirable in this lofty quality, and currently the single finest example of the date certified by NGC.
