Rare 5 Qian Cash

Yuan Dynasty. Shun (Toghon Temur) (1333-1368) 5 Qian ND (from 1350) Certified 80 by Gong Bo Grading, Hartill-19.124. 79.8mm. 148.2gm. With Ji above, possibly from Ji An in Jiangxi (Kiangsi Province). An outstanding survivor of this large type, here presenting earthen and thoroughly original surfaces. Rarely offered and likely to be disputed by advanced Cash Type collectors.

Minted in a period of economic reform to replace small-sized coins with paper money and larger Cash coins. The paper money became too troublesome due to its poor quality and difficulties to redeem, leading to exponential inflation and a widespread loss of confidence in the monetary system.

珍罕元代權鈔伍錢

1333-1368年元代至正之寶權鈔伍錢背上吉。公博評級美80。
79.8毫米。148.2克。背上吉，應出自江西吉安。這款伍錢尺寸驚人，品相出類拔萃，幣面呈質樸原始的大地色澤。此幣在市場上鮮有現身，定必會引來一眾高階古錢收藏家的一番龍爭虎鬥。

此幣問世於經濟改革時期，並以紙鈔和尺寸較大的錢幣取代舊有的小型錢幣。由於當時紙鈔粗製濫造，而且無實物抵押，故造成了劇烈通漲，貨幣系統因而陷入大亂。
