João V gold "West Indies Imitation" 6400 Reis (Peça) 1748-B XF45 PCGS, Bahia mint, cf. KM151, cf. LMB-148. 12.92gm. An intriguing selection designated a "West Indies Imitation" by PCGS, generally reserved for examples of the type known to have been clipped and re-edged to comply with local weight regulations of various outposts in the Caribbean.
