Pleasing 1793 S-8 Wreath Cent
1793 1C Wreath Cent--Vine and Bars--VG10 NGC. VG8 EAC. S-8, Low R.3. This appears to be an earlier die state, although wear obscures some details. Walter Breen estimated a mintage of slightly more than 8,000 coins, suggesting that most were struck June 27-28. He also compared the reverse to the second reverse of the 1793 half cents. Breen believed that both reverse dies may have been made at the same time. This cent has sepia-brown surfaces with very faint porosity and a few tiny rim bruises.Ex: Belinda Coin Co.
