Description

1787 COPPER Connecticut Copper, Draped Bust Left XF45 NGC. M. 32.3-X.4, R.2. This Miller variety is interesting for recutting on the E in CONNEC. It appears that an F punch was initially used, then the engraver corrected the die by hand to transform the F into an E. This is a mildly granular golden-brown state copper with minor obverse rim nicks at 4, 8, and 9 o'clock. Listed on page 60 of the 2011 Guide Book.
