Description

Pedro II gold "'Azevedo' Below Bust" 6400 Reis 1832-R UNC Details (Cleaned) NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM387.2, LMB-612. The scarce variety of the year's issue produced in a gold-palladium alloy with "Azevedo F" located underneath Pedro's bust. Fine hairlines indicate a prior cleaning, though the fields retain a particular "flashiness" that appears original to the piece. A rare and sought-after type, owed in large part to its limited original mintage of only 4,101.
