Description

1766 1/2 P Pitt Halfpenny VF25 NGC. Betts-519, W-8350, R.3. William Pitt, the Elder, was heralded as "The Great Commoner" during his service as Prime Minister under George III. Pitt was responsible for ending the Stamp Act, a punitive tax on American exports to England. The present token is slightly off center toward 10 o'clock. The medium brown surfaces are lightly granular. Listed on page 52 of the 2018 Guide Book.
