Description
Pedro I 640 Reis 1827-R MS61 NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM367, LMB-503, Bentes-475.14. 28 tulip variety. The finest-certified example of this extremely elusive date in the series, the next finest we have offered, an AU58, realizing $5,140 in our September 2014 Long Beach sale. While admitting a small annealing flaw above the denomination, the coin otherwise has remarkably few imperfections, the reverse in particular showing a handsome degree of luster. From the Vila Rica Collection
