1837 Cent, MS65 Red and Brown
N-3, Plain Cords, Medium Letters

1837 1C Plain Cords, Medium Letters, N-3, R.1, MS65 Red and Brown PCGS. Die scratches near the L in LIBERTY and the line below CENT identify Newcomb-3. Incorrectly designated by PCGS as a Head of 1838 variety. The orange-gold color approaches full Red, although blushes of lavender visit the high points and open fields. A nicely struck and lustrous Gem. Delicate field contact near the chin determines the grade. Our EAC grade MS63.
