1793 Chain Cent, VF Details
S-4, B-5, AMERICA, Periods

1793 1C Chain, AMERICA, Periods, S-4, B-5, R.3 -- Corrosion, Burnished -- NGC Details. VF. A ghostlike portrait of Liberty remains largely visible. The date is legible, and LIBERTY above is downright strong. The reverse chain and denomination exhibit bold definition, while the legends around are clear. Chocolate-brown color dominates, with gold and steel accents throughout. This highly collectible first-year Chain cent shows pitting on each side and evidence of burnishing in an attempt to smooth out the areas of corrosion. Our EAC grade Good 4.
