Description

Khevenhuller-Metsch. Johann Joseph Taler 1771 AU53 NGC, KM2, Dav-1189. Mintage: 200. Featuring the bust of Johann Joseph and crowned, mantled coat of arms atop massive surfaces that are mottled in varying shades of gray and appreciable luster that makes it presence known from the fields in subtle coppery-champagne color. Minor adjustments are noted through the portrait, but are well-hidden in the patina, and the fields are remarkably clear for the grade assignment, with only minor wisps noted for the sake of accuracy. While not the finest certified example of this scarce type, definitely an offering that combines exceptional quality with alluring eye appeal.
