Description

1923-S Quarter, MS66 Full Head
Spectacular Luster, Brilliant and Appealing

1923-S 25C MS66 Full Head PCGS. Most collectors growing up assembling date and mintmark sets of Standing Liberty quarters viewed the 1923-S as one of the stoppers. And it is, especially in circulated sets. Collectors with ample budget assembling Mint State sets will find the 1923-S to be more available than its reputation suggests, although high-end Full Head coins are inherently scarce.

This Premium Gem Full Head piece displays brilliant, frosty mint luster and exceptional preservation and eye appeal. Liberty's head is bold, as are the date numerals and the reed-and-bead around the border. On the reverse, the leading edge of the eagle's left (facing) wing is sharp. The only notable weakness appears on the shield rivets, as is largely unavoidable on the 1923-S. Two micro-nicks on Liberty's forward leg are likely all that prevent full Superb Gem classification of this lovely Registry coin. Population: 44 in 66 (8 in 66+) Full Head, 11 finer (2/25).(Registry values: N2998)
