1877 5C JD-1, R.2, PR66+ Cameo PCGS. The 1877 Shield nickel
is a proof-only issue and one of the keys to the series, struck in
a meager reported quantity of 900 pieces. This Premium Gem offers
golden-tinged surfaces that are well-contrasted and sharply struck,
as expected. A couple of small scrapes on the lower reverse are
noted but undistracting, as plenty of eye appeal remains
throughout. Population: 12 in 66+ Cameo, 13 finer (9/25).Ex: Dallas Signature (Heritage, 10/2020), lot 3251.
