Description
1811 1/2 C Wide Date, C-1, B-1, Low R.4 -- Damage -- PCGS Genuine. Good Details. Manley Die State 4.0, "extremely rare. 5-6 specimens known," with a cud affixed to the first two stars. Most survivors of this challenging variety are either the early die state without cuds, or the late die state with the cud extended through star 4. Although designated as Good Details, the obverse legends and stars are clear, as is UNITED STATES OF and HALF CENT. AMERICA is faint. The deep brown surfaces are granular, and the lower right reverse border displays a couple of linear depressions. Our EAC grade Fair 2.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 222S, Variety PCGS# 35239, Base PCGS# 1135, Greysheet# 80909)
