Description

1835 JR-4 Dime, MS64
Colorful Surfaces, Sharp Strike

1835 10C JR-4, R.2, MS64 PCGS. Nine varieties produced more than 1.4 million 1835 Bust dimes, a high for the series. The JR-4 variety is slightly less available in high grade than most of the other die pairs, known for its "high 5" in the date and its recut "low 3." The eagle's wing feathers are more distinctly wedge-shaped than on any other 1835 variety. Variegated shades of blue and lavender toning accent pale-gold surfaces, with orange-gold highlights at the margins. A sharp strike exists throughout both sides of this near-Gem JR-4 example.
