Description

1909-S Lincoln Cent, MS66 Red
Only Six Finer at PCGS

1909-S 1C MS66 Red PCGS. Many, many times rarer than the 1909-S VDB cent, the 1909-S was virtually ignored while the S-VDB was hoarded by the thousands. This beautiful coin just screams "eye appeal," with radiant luster on both sides complementing the delicate pinkish-orange and sunset-orange patina. This sharply struck piece shows minuscule flecks only on the reverse, visible with a loupe. One of the nicest this cataloger has ever seen, in many long years of viewing top-grade Lincoln cents. PCGS has only certified six finer examples, while NGC has graded just five finer (5/16).
