Description

1880 Morgan Dollar, PR66 Cameo
Sharply Contrasted

1880 $1 PR66 Cameo PCGS. CAC. The Philadelphia Mint struck 1,400 silver dollars for the 1880 proof sets, although 85 sets went unsold and were later melted. The large mintage was especially well-produced, yielding some spectacular Premium Gem cameos such as this CAC-endorsed PR66 Cameo example. Glassy-mirrored fields surround velvet-smooth, richly frosted devices for strong white-on-black contrast and outstanding eye appeal. Population: 36 in 66 (4 in 66+) Cameo, 28 finer. CAC: 15 in 66, 12 finer (9/23).(Registry values: N4719)
