Description
Snow-1 Doubled Die Obverse 1873 Cent
FS-101, MS63 Red and Brown
1873 1C Doubled LIBERTY, Closed 3 MS63 Red and Brown PCGS.
Snow-1, FS-101. Along with the 1888/7, the key to a Guide
Book collection of Indian cents. LIBERTY is widely die doubled
(accounting for the sometimes-seen name "Doubled Liberty"), and
less dramatic doubling is present on the profile and headdress
feathers. This nicely struck and satiny representative features
dusky orange-red and straw-gold throughout the fields, while the
portrait, wreath, and legends are toned brown. Marks are
essentially absent aside from a faded thin mark between the O in
ONE and the C in CENT. The Snow-1 variant is a rarity in Mint
State, particularly with partial and full Red color
designation.(Registry values: P10)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 227Y, PCGS# 2116, Greysheet# 1333)
