Description

1881-O Dollar, MS66
Exceptionally Bold and Vibrant

1881-O $1 MS66 PCGS. This brilliant piece is well-struck and nearly abrasion-free, save for a reeding mark on the eagle's breast and a single tick on Liberty's cheek. There is minimal contrast between the fields and devices, but the vibrant satin mint luster is far better than usually seen on this issue. The hair over the ear is especially well-detailed for a New Orleans dollar. Population: 50 in 66 (5 in 66+), 0 finer (6/18).
Ex: Dallas Signature (Heritage, 10/2006), lot 1349, where it realized $23,000.00.
