Description

Very Rare Quality for this Issue

Charles IV gold 8 Escudos 1794 Mo-FM MS64 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM159, Onza-1024. Choice Mint State with remarkably clean and fully original surfaces. Very mild stacking friction appears on the highest points of the obverse and is essentially inconsequential and mentioned for accuracy, while rich old patina and high underlying luster both contribute to the outstanding eye-appeal of this piece. Very rare and vastly desirable in this superb quality, an excellent example destined to represent the type in a highly refined cabinet. Currently the single highest certified specimen of the date by NGC, and one of very few examples of the issue to surpass the MS63 designation.
