1797 1C Reverse of 1797, Stems -- Damaged -- NGC Details. XF. S-129, B-24, R.5. Two faint cracks in the upper left obverse field outline the break that appears on S-130 and S-131. This example has a dent in the lower left obverse with a few small edge dents and a planchet defect over ME, but otherwise exceptional medium steel surfaces. Del Bland calls this piece VF20 sharpness, net VG8 and tied for 10th finest. Bill Noyes grades the coin VF25 sharpness, net Fine 12, and sixth finest. Our EAC grade VG10.
