British India. Victoria gold Proof Restrike 5 Rupees 1879-(b) AU Details (Removed From Jewelry) NGC, Bombay mint, KM494, Prid-45, S&W-6.26. Type D, 'Large' bust. Reeded edge. A rare Proof Restrike-only date with the noted use in jewelry, while unfortunate, muting the overt flash so commonly seen on these issues and producing a slightly more aged appearance. The first example we have offered since 2011, and likely to fill a hole in many a collection.Metal: Gold
