British India. Victoria gold Proof Restrike 10 Rupees 1870-(c) PR62 NGC, Calcutta mint, KM479, Prid-32, S&W-4.18. Reeded edge. CM initials on truncation of neck. Young bust. A certainly enticing and fully flashy representative of this fleeting Proof restrike, clearly executed from a heavily polished reverse die, with just the lightest wisps bounding the designation. We note that the coin has been mislabeled on the holder as the more mature bust type.
